This paper is about The Cay Hero's journey. The hero's Journey is about Phillip enright. i think that Phillip did complete a Hero's journey. Phillip's separation starts when Phillip and his mom leave the island. The separation is when the ship is torpedoed and phillip and his mom are separated. The calling is when Phillip is forced to leave the island. The threshold is when the discussion occurs between phillip, his mom, and his dad. The descent is when Phillip and his mom get on the S.S. Hato. the abyss is when Pillip and Timothy are on the Caribbean Sea. The abyss is also when they end up on an unknown island in the Caribbean. Timothy becomes Phillip's mentor. Timothy teaches phillip how to fish by himself, he encourages Phillip to climb a tree, and he protects Phillip during the storm. The transformation begins when Timothy slaps Phillip, Phillip feels a change inside of himself. Phillip helps Timothy with his sickness. Phillip learns how to fish and he climbs a coconut tree. Then Phillip is alone. My opinion is that Phillip changes alot, thanks to Timothy. The characters return happens when Phillip is rescued. Phillip goes back to America with his mom, there, he gets surgery and he can see again. Then Phillip's mom changes her mind and they go back to the island with Phillips dad. Phillip uses what Timothy taught him to survive and to get rescued. Phillip changes alot with this experience. This experience also changes Phillip's mom and the way she thinks about colored people. My opinion is that this was a very good experience for Phillip. In my paper I talked about Phillip Enright's Hero's Journey. I think that Phillip did complete the Hero's Journey because of all the things he goes through. My opinion is that the journey that phillip went through was for the best.
