We all know that tragedy is not a good thing for us to happen. Do we really know the real meaning of tragedy? this word might made you think only on dead. Tragedy not only consist on blood but on the consequences this always brings. now this heappen very often in our world.
The news, not long time ago showed us the catastrophe of the huracane catrine and the collapse of the twin towers. they were called a tragedy not only because the USA losted a lot money. they were called a tragedy because many families passed through difficult times. this caused them to sufere constantly. This unfortunate events changed many people's lifes.
The story of Romeo and juliet was an excellent explanation of a true meaning of tragedy. a very strong feeling made this characters to be together even in their graves. For them to loose their own lifes was a symbol for their love. They only whished to be together. Their families were responsable to suferethe agony of tragedy.
So that you can see, tragedy is n0t only dead. Tragedyis also agony, sadnes and sufering. The meaning of tragedy could only be known to those who bhave love. If you do not love you will not have to deal with tragedy. I think we all know this word and the meaning already.

There are a lot of theories about Edgar Allan Poe's death. The people studying about him are still unsure of how he died. Some say he died from alcohol poisoning ans some say it was rabies.

Dr. R. Michael Benitez thinks that Poe was slandered and was not drunk. From the way Poe was hallucinating and shouting out imaginery friends, he thought that it could have been rabies. After all that he seemed better, but the fourth dayafter he was found, Poe got angry and confused, then he calmed down and died.

the other other author Burton R. Pollin disagrees with Benitez. He says Benitez is wrong about Poe's death. He says that Benitez admitted he had no evidence of a scratch or bite for Poe's rabies theory. Another man, Dr. Joseph Snodgrass, aslso disagrees with Benitez. There was no proof that Poe wasn't drunk.

Benitez says he didn't admit of any scratches or bites on Poe. He said that it didn't really matter even if there was or wasn't proof because it isn't inconsistent with the diagnosis.

I would have to agree with Snodgrass and Pollin, but then again Benitez's theory could be possible. I think Poe probably didn't die from either drinking or rabies. He couldn've died from something else.

The return is when he gets home and the dog recnizes him and dies and also the lady that was washing ody's feet. And when his son finally meets him. The creation was when he decides to turn him self to an old guy and wait to see what was going on and then make his move to recuperate his kingdom.

Dr. Benitiz admits the primary weakness of his theory-lack of evidence of a bite or scratch. The Rabies death Theory could have been the reason why Poe died. His cat could've had the rabies and transmitted them to Poe. Poe could've also possibly had contact with a bat and he could've gotten rabies from the bat. Even though they don't have the proof that the rabies were transmitted by Caterina (Poes cat), it is possible because there were no vaccines to cure animals of the rabies.

Poe could've also died from alcohol because they said that just a little bit of alcohol could've made him violently ill for days. So I dont think that they can be very sure that alcohol is not the reason of poes death. They also cannot be sure that Poe always avoided alcohol beacuse they weren't always watching him around the clock. I also think it could've been just an alcohol problem that he had when he was younger.

After reading this article, I dont think that Poe died from rabies. This article indicates that Poe got really drunk and he exposed himself to the rain and the wind. I personally think that Poe overused alcohol and that is the reason of his death.

Based on all these articles, I think that Poe died from alcohol overuse. I think this because I think they have more evidence to support his drinking theory than they do of Poe getting rabies. Also, they can't be sure that Caterina died from rabies because they also say that she died of starvation. If Poes death was caused by rabies, I think they should've at least noticed some symptoms. So until now, I think the cause of Poes death is alcohol.

The Odyssey was about a man named Odysseus. He travelled in like 16 different places just to get back home to Ithaca. he tried so hard to get back home to his faithful wife and son, it took him 20 years. His mentor was Athena. She helped helped him through it. He went through so many unknown places. He returns home as a hero and gets his kingdom back.

In the movie "Troy" Ichilles went to Troy with the spartans to fight the Trojans. He fought for his country. His mom was his mentor. His transformation was saving a Trojan woman and falling in love. He didn`t get to return home.

In the movie "Whale Rider" Paikea wants to become a leader for her clan. She was about to leave with her father, but something told her not to. Her grandfat her was her mentor, but she proved him wrong by showimg him women can be leaders too. She was created into a hero and the nerw leader.

The hero's journey shows there's always a seperation, initiation and a return. In all the stories they did what they had to do. They became great leaders i nthe end.

In Romeo and Juliet there were many tragedies. Such as a lot of deaths because of the teenagers falling in love. Then there’s the Friar who tries to help but doesn’t know what he was trying to do which was not the smartest thing to do. The families were always feuding and Juliet’s parents wanting her to marry Paris or she would be disowned. Lastly the outcome of two lovers dying for one another because of the families they came from.

The first character who died was Mercutio, he died because Tybalt was looking for Romeo and Mercutio was defending Romeo by fighting for him. Then afterwards when Mercutio dies Romeo gets angry and kills Tybalt, even though Romeo knew he was related to Tybalt. That’s when the prince exiles Romeo and Lady Montague dies because her son was exiled. Romeo and Juliet think they can’t be together so they told the Friar that if he doesn’t help them then they’ll kill themselves. There can be very many opinions on who’s fault it was for all the deaths but then again if Romeo didn’t go to the Capulet’s party then none of this would have happened.

Friar Laurence tries to help by marrying Romeo and Juliet. He thought that if he did this then the families would forget they’re differences and forgive one another. The Friar had good intensions but the situation had it’s own terms. The tragedy in Friar marrying the teenagers was that Juliet’s parents were trying to get married to Paris. Also, both of them were from different families and none the less feuding families.

A big problem was how Juliet’s father wanted her to marry Paris, but she couldn’t because she was already married to Romeo. Juliet couldn’t tell them that and her dad told her that if she didn’t marry Paris she would be disowned. Then how she was betrayed by her nurse and was left to handle her problems all on her own. Most importantly the deaths of both Romeo and Juliet. How Romeo got the wrong information and took poison and Juliet killed herself because her love died. It took Romeo and Juliet to die for the families to solve there differences.

Romeo and Juliet is a great book to read, it has great turning points. Shakespeare captured the meaning of a teenager through a very unique way. As if he knew that teenagers and how they comprehend the word “love” would not vary as much from the past. This book has everything from arguments, fights, deaths to a tragic love story. Whether a person likes novels or not, they would enjoy reading this book.

The Odyssey has many twists and turns. The Odyssey is about a Greek warrior named Odysseus. This story begins when the Trojan war has ended. Odysseus and his men have to back home to there families. There are many obstacle on the way back home. The person responsible for all of those obstacles is Poseidon the Greek god of the ocean.

One of the obstacles Poseidon puts Odysseus ship and crew lost in the sea in a big body of fog.

Odysseus and his men finally landed on land , but the island was home of Poseidon's sons the cyclopes. The men gets trapped in the cave of the youngest of all the cyclopes Polyphemus. They escape the terrible Cyclopes by tricking him in many ways. While they were getting away in there ship Odysseus decide to gloat and Polyphemus almost destroys the ship.

His crew are now gone because of Sila and Charybdis swallowing his ship. Odysseus was stranded in Calypso's island for one whole year. Calypso Would not let him go until Hermes forced her to with the word of Zeus. Hermes told Calypso that Zeus wants her to release Odysseus or her island will be suck to the bottom of Poseidon ocean.

Odysseus finally returns to his home Ithica And there was allot of suitor in his castle.

He didn't go to his palace right away because he know the moment the suitor know he is back they will kill him. Athena disguises him as a beggar. At the day his wife Penelope made a challenge for the suitors he reviles him self during the challenge. After he reveals himself Odysseus, his son, and his loyal servants kill all the suitors. To be sure it was Odysseus Penelope made a last test for him to find the secret of there bedroom. After the test he ordered all the maids who betrayed him to clean all the dead bodies and after they are done they are to be hanged.

The meaning of tragedy in the story The Afterlife I think is to learn how to forgive and forget. In this story, a boy gets killed for no good reason. The boy comes back as a ghost and finds out many interesting things that he didnt know when he was alive. One of those things was that he realizes that he isn't really that angry at the guy that killed him and he doesn't know the reason for that. For some reason, the boy doesnt want his family or friends to get revenge for him.
In this story Chuy forgives the guy for killing him and he actually finds love and friends in the afterlife.
In the story of Romeo and Juliet, the meaning of tragedy is also kind of forgiveness but it is mostly love, and sacrifice. The sacrifice starts when Romeo decides to marry Juliet even though they are from feuding families. When Romeo and Juliet wed, that is when the problems start. In this story, love is a tragedy because of all the problems it causes.
Friends are also kind of a tragedy in this story because when Mercutio gets killed by Tybalt, Romeo gets angry and so he kills Tybalt. Then Romeo gets kicked out of Verona for killing Tybalt and he is sent away from his wife (Juliet).Because Romeo gets kicked out, that might lead juliet to do something dumb.
Romeo sacrifices himself and goes to see Juliet. Then Juliet comes up with a plan but Romeo does not know about it. Juliet pretends to be dead because her parents want her to marry Paris because they dont know that she is married. But since Romeo does not know about the plan, he is told that Juliet is dead and he thinks it is really true. So Romeo decides to kill himself because Juliet is "dead". Juliet then wakes up, finds Romeo dead, and so then she decides to kill herself too.
That is why in this story, love is a tragedy. Love causes death and sacrifice. But at the end of this story, the feuding families decide to settle their differences because two of their children are dead just because of their dumb feud. But it took many tragedies like deaths and thing like that to make the families decide that their feud was really bad and a dumb mistake that cost many lives...
