In The book ''The Odyssey'' I learned about The Hero's Journey, and of all the exciting parts of this great book The first theme is separation: odysseus leaves his kingdom and family to defend his people and his territory Next is The calling: His goal is to come back to his family and kingdom as a great hero. Ialso learned about threshold and the descent our Hero goes with the help of Athena, and his journey starts going into the unknown.
In begining with cicones he uses his wisdom to fool poseidons son. The next theme in the Hero's journey is The Initiation Odysseus has help by gods, they help him get him home but with a lot of obsticales along the way
In our Hero's Transformation he changes because of his mother, she kills her self over him because she thought he was dead and that shocks odysseus and he is reminded about his wife and son.
In his return to Ithaca he sees everything different after not being home for 20 years, Odysseus gets help from Athena to became a beggar to get his Wife and Kingdom back from all the suitors trying to take his place.
The book was very exciting and sad, Iliked Leaning about the Hero's Journey because everytime I read a book or watch a film I can define every theme in the Hero's Journey.
