In "Whale Rider" the movie was trying to teach acceptance. Acceptance means agreeing to the act. Paka, Paikea's grandfather, finally accepted his granddaughter in becoming a leader of their clan. For me, I had to accept a new school, new people and new surroundings to get into high school. In tagalog acceptance means Tanggap.
